Google TV finally launched this week, and it’s essentially a better version of Boxee. Teaming up with Intel, Sony, and Logitech, Google TV allows you to work alongside your cable box by allowing you to view web content and television content side-by-side from the same interface. This isn’t new, Boxee and TiVo have been at this for quite some time, but what’s really cool is the ability to search for anything you want and get a list of everywhere you can see it. Let’s say you search for The Office, it returns what times and channels it will be on, videos you can see on YouTube, places you can watch it On Demand, and episodes you saved on DVR. You can also save things to your home page, sort of like visual book marks, so you can easily access your favorite, shows, channels, videos, websites, music playlists, and photo albums.
