A new type of billboard will hit the streets in the not too distant future. Blackberry’s parent company, surely seeing the inevitable destruction of the blackberry, has patented a digital billboard technology that recognizes traffic patterns and displays ads accordingly. For example, if traffic is slow, it displays more detailed moving ads. If traffic is moving quickly, it displays more still and larger letter ads that are easier to read quickly. They’re even thinking when traffic is dead stop, people can pull out their phones and snap photos of QR codes or coupons.
