NYC band Guards features members of MGMT, The Cults, and Chairlift. Together they make amazing 60s jangly-pop influenced sounds that channel the spirit of the Kinks and The Beach Boys. They’re offering their EP, plus a 3-track cover songs 7” featuring covers from M.I.A. and Vampire Weekend. Good stuff!
Love Animal Collective? Then you’ll dig Panda Bear, which is the solo project of Collective member Noah Lennox. He has a new album on the way, his fourth, called Tomboy, which compiles a bunch of the singles he’s been releasing lately on labels like Domino, Paw Tracks, Kompact, and Fat Cat.
