Marketing Innovation – Leg Ads

Superette, a clothing store in New Zealand, is using plates installed on benches to imprint their ad onto the back of bare legs. Now, there are a few flaws to this – pants and sitting down on them correctly and long enough being two of them – but the concept is very cool. The ad agency figured, the plates will be noticed on the benches as it is, and if they get imprinted on people’s legs, that’s just extra free media. Especially since, as we saw last week with the viral video “Rear View Girls,” both men and women alike take the occasional glance at our behinds. Let’s just hope they didn’t make any out of metal, because if those things roast in the sun, that’s not imprinting, that becomes branding!
