Marketing Innovation – World’s First Test Drive In A Print Ad


Volkswagon in Norway is claiming they are offering the World’s first test drive inside a print ad. “The ad, placed in several Norwegian magazines, presents a long stretch of road (there are summer and winter versions) and urges readers to download an app (developed by Mobiento) that lets you “drive” a car on the road by hovering your iPhone over it. You can test three different features of the vehicle—lane assist, adaptive lights and cruise control.” What’s cool is that the lane assist vibrates your phone as you get close to the lane lines and the adaptive lights actually move around the curve of the road, so it takes what would normally be a simple augmented reality execution and makes it an interactive and fun “driving” experience.
