Marketing Innovation – Coca Cola Santa’s Forgotten Letters

If you’ve seen “The Santa Clause” with Tim Allen, you may remember the scene where as Santa, Scott (Tim) brings his ex-wife, Laura, and her husband, Neil, gifts that they wrote to Santa and asked for when they were kids but never came. Coca-Cola brought this to life with “Santa’s Forgotten Letters.” Ogilvy Brazil visited the town of Santa Claus, USA, and discovered in a museum there letters that people had sent to Santa Claus over 40 years ago. 75 letters were selected from a range of 60,000 letters. Ogilvy then set out to find those 75 people and have Santa deliver their gifts. It was an incredibly creative and touching campaign that will have adults choking up.
