Viral of the Week: Move

In a new short film series commissioned by STA Travel Australia, a 44 day trip across the world spanning 38 thousand miles and 11 countries is captured within 3 very captivating videos.  Our favorite is “Move” —  which features a guy walking a straight line seamlessly through all the locations visited as they rapidly flash across the screen.  The other two videos, “Learn” and “Eat” showcase the countries’ culture and food respectively in a similar fashion.   If you enjoyed the “Where The Hell Is Matt?” videos, you’ll love these!

Viral of the Week – Mariachi Dancing Sea Life

You’d probably never guess this, but beluga whales are huge fans of mariachi music.   At least that’s the case with one of the fascinating creatures found at Connecticut’s Mystic Aquarium as seen in this recent video making the rounds.  The segment was captured while the group Mariachi Connecticut was performing there for a wedding when one of the tank’s residents was caught getting into the groove.    Not captured, however, was the horrific attack that took place when the band attempted to play Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga.”

Viral of the Week – Freddie Wong vs. Cowbows vs. Aliens

Freddie Wong – Youtube comedy-action star/filmmaker extraordinaire – has cultivated a huge following over the course of just a few years with his unique brand of big-budget looking videos done cheaply and quickly.  He recently caught the attention of Cowboys & Aliens director Jon Favreau who commissioned Wong to create a video to help promote the film – guest starring Favreau himself.  The just-over three minute long video is highly entertaining – full of high-tech action in a western setting – and got us excited for the film’s release this weekend.   And if you look closely, you can even spot a cameo from Universal Studio’s Simpsons ride in the background which we did not realize was around back in the Old West.

Viral of the Week – Intresting Ilusion makes Pretty Woman Appear Ugly

We’re all suckers for a good illusion.  In fact, one of the members of our team is even a practicing magician.  (If we told you who, he’d make us disappear.)    This week’s viral clip is a doozy – a series of photos of perfectly normal looking women that become freakishly weird looking just from staring at the center of the video.    If you try it in reverse by starting out with freakishly weird looking people, they all become CSI: Miami star David Caruso.  We all thought that was very unusual.

From cop thriller to zombie attack to indie flick, this week’s viral pick covers just about every film genre and then some.   Behold “Plot Device” – a highly entertaining short film created by Red Giant (the makers of visual FX editing software) to showcase the features of their products.   And true to recent Hollywood blockbusters, be sure to stick around until after the credits for a little bonus.  Unlike recent Hollywood blockbusters though, you won’t have to wait 20 minutes for them to finish scrolling.
