Mall parking lots are one step closer to our dream where an LED lit arrow system escorts you to the next closest spot to the door. Santa Monica Place has installed a new system by Park Assist called the M3 Camera Vision System. It utilizes a network of cameras to capture each car’s location and read the plate and there are kiosks at the door so that if you don’t remember where your car is, you can type in the plate, it brings up a picture of your car and shows you how to get to it. A similar system at Heathrow Airport in London snaps a picture of cars as they enter the garage and uses an infrared camera system to find the car. This is both helpful and scary. The LED arrow system would be way more helpful.
